Character Info
Character Name: Misty Quigley
Canon/Canon Point: Yellowjackets, S209 (Immediately after the cabin burns down.)
Character Age: 17
History: Here
Powers: None!
Role in Ashbrook
Character Skills:
-She has a pretty advanced understanding of medicine for her age, serving as the team's de facto doctor when stranded in the woods. She's able to amputate and cauterize the coach's leg, save Lottie's life after she was beaten to near death by Shauna, and (unsuccessfully) deliver Shauna's infant son.
-Decent survival skills developed after spending half a year lost in the forest. She's not in charge of most of it but she's watched the others performing their various roles (hunting, skinning animals, building fires, cooking)
-As an adult, she has an advanced knowledge of True Crime and methods of murder and body disposal, that I would choose to interpret her as still having this hyper-fixation but to a less practical extent, so she just knows a lot of trivia about famous serial killers and forensic information.
-Plant knowledge, she picks up mushrooms to drug her teacher with because he rejected her sexual and romantic advances. Not getting into how fucked up that is, she still has a decent amount of knowledge on plants.
-Babysitting. She's taken the babysitter course twice, and it's implied that this is a job she does sometimes for neighbors.
Character Values:
-People should like her.
-See above.
-Murder is okay.
-Protecting her friends.
-Friendship is the most important thing in the world, especially with her.
-Keeping your promises is extremely important.
-Loyalty to the ones you have decided to be loyal toward.
-The survival of the group needs to be prioritized.
-Rules are made to be broken/bent.
-Keep an open mind but don't delude yourself.
Role Opt-Outs:
Bonus details?: YES
Personality
Please provide a summary (ideally 500-1000 words) of your character's most important strengths, weaknesses, goals, and fears.
Alternatively, answer at least three of these questions:What is your character best at, and how do they feel about that?
In canon, what does your character fail at? What are the consequences of that failure?
Her biggest failures always stem from her lack of understanding of the social cues around her. On a real level she just doesn't understand why the things she's done are considered abhorrent, or why she's considered creepy or undesirable. She kills her "best friend" because they were exchanging secrets and Misty revealed that she broke the Black Box, and her best friend backs away from her horrified and implies she's going to tell the others, so Misty tells her that if she does that, she will kill her. As they're standing on a cliff, her friend stumbles to get away from her and falls off to her death.
What does your character want most in the world?
Love. Above all else, she wants to be accepted and loved as someone who is useful and loyal. She wants people to be grateful toward her, and include her, and welcome her as a treasured member of the team, rather than the reviled outsider she's been for her entire life.
What is your character most afraid of?
In a very real way, Misty has lived her worst fears. Rejection from the people she cares about the most. Kristen rejected her when Misty bared her entire heart to her in all it's ugly quality, and declared that she wasn't her friend because she was a psycho.
The idea that there is just something inherently wrong with her that nobody can find it in them to love is what she fears the most.
How would your character react to a deep betrayal from the person they care about the most?
Impulsively, she would lash out with anger and violence, and almost certainly kill them in a fit of pure unfiltered rage. However, she wouldn't be able to bring herself to hate them afterward, and would regret it deeply for years.
Where does your character see themselves in five years?
She sees herself as a nurse of some kind, most likely. She hopes that she'll be bonded to the other Yellowjackets for life, and that they'll still be her friends (debatable that they ever were), but another part of her is aware that she almost certainly won't. Her own self perception doesn't extend far into the future. She might live miserably ever after and have an unfulfilling career, or she might die in the woods surrounded by her friends, the only time she would have ever had a chance to matter.
At least she had the chance.
